Renowned for its misty mountains and scenic beauty, Thodupuzha is the largest town in Idukki district. Once part of the territory of the Travancore dynasty. Thodupuzha derives its name from the word Thodu (Touch) and Puzha (River) with the river touching the town. It is the hilly terrain that classifies the region as “Malanad”.
